2. The Sponsor’s Choice Award. This is a separate award of £2,500 for the work chosen by our main sponsor. 3. One of this year’s judges has kindly sponsored a prize. As one of the world’s most celebrated print-makers, Norman Ackroyd’s work showcases the dramatic results that etching delivers, and he is keen to support fellow artists. The winner of the Norman Ackroyd Prize for the best etching in the show will receive £1,000 from Norman himself.
4. The Swinton Foundation Prize is sponsored by Swinton Park Hotel, which has hosted a number of contemporary art exhibitions since it opened in 2001. This prize is inspired by La Colombe d’Or in France, which has a long history of supporting art and artists. Some reports say that artists such as Miro, Matisse, Chagall and many more settled their bills by leaving a painting for the hotel owners, before the artists attained popularity. Consequently, this prize offers a wonderful package for a professional artist at the beginning of his or her career: 5.
